Pretty fun night this time, as you can see there were some pictures taken. I started off the night with Little Bit Of Soul by The Music Explosion. One thing that irks me about some of the karaoke companies is that some of them don't research the lyrics, they just do it by ear, and sometimes they get things wrong. The couplet: "And when you raise the roof with your Rock-N-Roll You'll get a lot more kicks with a little bit o soul." came out "And when you race to rock with your Rock-N-Roll You'll get a lot more gas with a little bit o soul." Then: "When your party falls cos there's nobody groovin" became "When your body falls...." Then, the best one yet "As you go through life trying to reach your goal" came out as "And as you thought you laugh cried and reach your goal" What the fuck does that mean?! Anyway enough about that, Alan & Taylor then did Private Idaho-B 52's, Then their friend Mitch did Darlene Love's version of Winter Wonderland. An odd choice for early May I know. There were two other slips that were recieved from strangers that ended up not happening, so that was it for the first rotation. Then I did Hell In A Bucket by Grateful Dead, which was one that I meant to do last week as part of the Lost Classics thing. Alan followed that up with Wichita Lineman, Taylor did Duran Duran's Something I Should Know, then Mitch returned with What's New Pussycat. In honor of Cinco De Mayo, I started the next rotation with Santana's Black Magic Woman, which as it turns out is the only song of theirs I have. I thought I had more. Alan then rocked out Miss You by The Stones, followed by Mitch & Taylor doing Scarborough Fair which was somewhat marred by PA problems(I have it in the shop now). Then Shannon Blackwood, someone I've known for several years, did Sympathy For The Devil. His friend Bruno did something after that(I don't recall what, lost the slip) I started the next rotation with Rollover DJ by Jet, then Alan upped the Rock ante with The Who's The Real Me. Then Taylor was joined by her friend Juan for Don't Go Breaking My Heart(pictured) Mitch did The Lady Is A Tramp, and I think it was at this point the slips dried up, so we took a little break to regroup. After the break, Taylor and I did a version of Stop Dragging My Heart Around, followed by Alan with Cruel To Be Kind, Mitch did You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate, then Shannon returned with The Beatles' Taxman. I don't recall what my second to last song was, then Alan did Josie for Steely Dan Time, Mitch did Day-O(pictured) and I wrapped things up with a Spanish version of Gary Puckett's Young Girl as the Oldie From Hell.
